Wizzair chocolate – it’s in Sipospack packaging too!
Various flights offer a variety of food products, often in their own logo packaging, with great advertising value. One of the most popular products, apart from snacks, is chocolate. On Wizzair, the chocolate in the familiar purple design is not only delicious, but also special, because it is also produced by Sipospack Ltd.
Digital printing technologies are opening up new possibilities in the world of packaging, and a unique look has become very important. Sipospack Ltd’s printing technology is up to the most challenging of challenges: with the HP Indigo printer, there is no graphic element or colour that the customer cannot request.
Bringing this machine into the production line has been a major milestone in the company’s life, and the success of this innovation is demonstrated by the fact that it recently won an HP Inkspiration Award in the category of flexible wall packaging.
How is Wizzair chocolate packaging made?
A recyclable polypropylene film is used in the digital printer, as the environment is an important consideration for Sipospack Ltd. It is transparent before printing, while when it comes out of the HP Indigo digital printer it is a distinctive purple colour with the matching lettering and logo. To get the ink on the film is first pre-treated in the front part of the printer. The pre-treated foil is fed into the printing unit, which resembles an old airplane’s radial engine, you could say it’s a complicated structure. This is where the foil gets the desired colour, in our case Wizzairlilac.
When this is done, the film comes out of the printing machine and is then rewound and shipped to the customer. All this is done in a matter of seconds. But before that comes the lamination process, where the film is changed to a two-layer sandwich structure. This is also to prevent the paint from coming into contact with the chocolate. Speaking of chocolate: this is the chocolate of Szerencsi Bonbon Kft.
While a traditional machine requires preliminary designs and clichés, the digital technology is much simpler: you only need a design in PDF format. The customer just needs to enter the design by e-mail or upload it to the server, where our graphic designer will review it and then assign it to the machine. And off you go to print!
If you’re travelling by Wizzair in the future and want to taste chocolate, think of Sipospack KFt, because the packaging is produced here in Hungary, in Sóskút!
