Sipospack Ltd. received HP Inkspiration Awards
The ever-evolving digital printing technologies have opened up new avenues in the world of packaging, and HP Indigo runs an annual competition to see who can use the diverse skills of their machines in different ways. This year, a product from Sipospack Ltd. won first place in the flexible wall packaging category of the world competition.
Now in its fifteenth year, this prestigious competition is run by HP Indigo every year – and is open to entries from all over the world. The HP Inkspiration Awards are open to entries in several categories and are judged by a panel of international experts who select from hundreds of entries. There are categories for labels, flexible packaging, folding carton, and traditional marketing and commercial printing, as well as awards for packaging that meets strict sustainability standards or is unique in terms of anti-counterfeiting.
– The entries had one requirement in common: they had to be produced on an HP Indigo press. We were most interested in how widely and creatively Indigo presses could be used, – explains Zoltán Kelemen, Director of HP Inc. – This press provides printers with a wide range of applications: from packaging with unique graphics, to the economical production of small and medium runs, it can answer a number of supply chain challenges and provide high quality and high added value to product manufacturers. Value-added is always the main criterion in the judging process, and packaging should represent more than functional value. What this machine can do, conventional printing technology cannot, this is the advantage of digitalisation, and the applicants had to take advantage of this.
Winning with chocolate
Sipospack Ltd. entered the category for flexible wall packaging – with a chocolate product from Barocco Chocolates, a multi-award-winning artisan chocolate.
– The entry, which was submitted on an HP Indigo 20000 digital press, caught the judges’ attention by printing the packaging of the four flavours of vitamin chocolates on a 100% recyclable, duplex (metalized and matt) polypropylene structure by Sipospack Ltd., a technology, high print quality and creative graphics that earned it the HP Inkspiration Awards 2022.
Sipospack Ltd. rightfully won the first prize.
