How to package organic food?

Eco-friendly, paper-efficient solutions for conscious consumers

In recent years, interest in organic and free foods has exploded, accompanied by increasingly conscious purchasing decisions. Consumers now pay attention not only to the ingredients, but also to how the product is made, what its packaging is like, and what its ecological footprint is. Sustainable, natural food products deserve packaging that authentically reflects these values – not only in its use of materials, but also in its appearance.

Sipospack offers packaging solutions for organic and health-conscious products that are not only safe and practical, but are also made in an environmentally friendly way, partly with solar energy, and have a natural-looking effect. For example, paper-effect bags are becoming increasingly popular, which visually reinforce the ecological nature of the product with their matte, natural surface.

Not only can the fruit be organic, but the packaging must also be authentic

The world of organic food now extends far beyond raw vegetables and fruits. Shop shelves now feature a variety of oat-based snack bars, lentil chips, fruit vitamin bars, and even millet balls – all products for which packaging needs to be practical, environmentally friendly, and authentic. Smaller, resealable pouches are particularly well-suited for these products, as they are lightweight, easy to handle, and yet can effectively communicate the message of sustainability.

The packaging of organically certified products must display the appropriate certification logos and organizational designations, such as the EU organic logo. In addition, terms such as “bio”, “organic” or “ecological” often appear on the packaging, as well as the origin and health benefits of the product. In terms of appearance, natural, subdued colors dominate – such as green, white or earthy colors – which emphasize naturalness and purity.

Degradable and recyclable packaging suits organic products

Sipospack offers degradable and recyclable packaging that meets the European Union’s circular economy objectives. We partially use solar energy to produce our products, thereby reducing the environmental impact of production – so the packaging not only looks sustainable from the outside, but it really is.

The graphic design of the packaging also plays a key role. Natural illustrations, plant motifs and hand-drawn elements all help the customer to see the product as authentic at first glance. Sipospack’s digital printing technology – HP Indigo – allows us to economically produce unique, premium-looking bags even in small quantities. For pre-made bags, the minimum order quantity is 3,000 pieces, and for flat film products (Sipos Rollstock), unique solutions are available from 500 meters. For larger quantities, we use flexo technology, which is excellent for cost-effective, high-volume production.

Aligning product value and packaging

The packaging of organic food is therefore not just a technical issue: it is a conscious communication decision. Packaging is the first thing the customer encounters – and if it does not reflect the natural origin and sustainable nature of the product, trust can easily be lost. Sipospack aims to offer solutions that are in line with the product’s values, customer expectations and environmental considerations.
