Foundation stone laid for the new building of Sipospack Ltd. in Sóskút

Packaging technology company Sipospack Ltd. is expanding its warehouse and production line in Soskút by 3000 square metres. As a result of this complex investment, the current size of the production hall will be doubled.

Gyula Sipos, the managing owner of Sipospack Ltd., emphasized during the groundbreaking ceremony that the aim of the current development is to expand production and increase capacity, keeping in mind that the company should do all this in an environmentally friendly way.

The project is funded by the European Union under the Széchenyi Plan Plus Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme Plus GINOP_PLUSZ-1.3.1-21-2022-00075.
“Being part of the “Green National Champions” programme will mean that the new regranulating machines will process their own waste from the production process, which will be turned into ZIP smoothing barrier using ZIP extruder machines. The energy for all this will be provided by the expanded solar system,” said Gyula Sipos at the groundbreaking ceremony.

“My company has always been environmentally conscious, and the Sipospack Ltd. logo has been green for thirty years.”

Mayor Ferenc König pointed out, among other things, that Sipospack Ltd. is a company in Sóskút that always looks to the future, can produce high quality economically and in the long term.

What is the company’s vision?

Balázs Sipos, marketing manager and owner, presented the time capsule hidden in the foundation stone, which symbolizes both the present and the future. Among other things, the time capsule contains the company’s most popular packaging for the food industry.

“One of these is the Sipos Doyppack, which we are particularly proud of, as this packaging is made of a single material, polypropylene, so it is fully recyclable,” said Balázs Sipos, explaining the choice. “and it is now available in rose gold. By producing our single-use products, we support the recycling of packaging materials, thus reducing environmental pollution and food waste. Or, in the capsule, we have added Sipos Paper, a 100% paper packaging made from virgin fibre pulp, heat-sealable – it has oxygen and mineral oil barrier properties. This makes it possible to use it for primary packaging, as it meets the most stringent food safety requirements. Its excellent properties make it behave in the same way on the production line as other materials. It prints well – either flexo or in small batches with digital printing, it can be resized. Its structure is stable, does not crack or tear, flexible, easy to bend, and elastic.”

The capsule also included a child’s drawing of the company, made by the family’s kindergarten-age grandson for the occasion, and a drawing imagined by AI – Artificial Intelligence: what will the company’s site look like in 2050? The vision is that it will be supported by drones and robots.
The new warehouse is scheduled to open in summer 2024.
